Member Love Stories
Is it February already! Wow – 2016 is already whizzing past us! February is such a LOVE-ly month and I know many clubs gear up for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at the club. What new and creative ways are we promoting Valentine’s Day? Earlier this week, I came across a Facebook Post from the Capital City Club in Columbia, South Carolina. The lead-in to the post said, “We are feeling the love at the Capital City Club! Join us for the next two weeks as we count to Valentine’s Day with member love stories!” Oh my gosh – I was hooked from the first sentence.
This is a brilliant idea. It celebrates love and Valentine’s Day for 14 days online. It connects members through storytelling. It gets members excited for the Valentine’s Day event. It celebrates members of the club. This is what social media is all about.
I’m sure it took a bit of effort to collect the stories and pictures, decide which couple will be featured on which day and plan the campaign. But I also bet that members are talking about the sweet love stories they read on Facebook. And if any of these couples visit the club in the next couple of weeks, you can be certain that other members will approach them and say, “I saw your love story on Facebook! That was so sweet!” or “I love how you proposed to her,” or “My husband and I have a similar story!”
